Welcome to the Pub Dates newsletter! We’re so glad you’re here.
This newsletter is released as a companion to each podcast episode, and we use it to share the visual elements of our discussion — from mood boards to design sketches, from photos to secret giveaways just for subscribers.
In episode twenty-seven, we’re going to celebrate Amie’s launch for The Isles of the Gods — the episode’s going to be a few days late for a very special reason, but we wanted to send the newsletter now, to celebrate this book being out in the world!
A quick interjection: Hello, friends - Kate here!
I usually leave the newsletter writing to Amie, but I couldn’t resist sliding in here to say how excited I am that ISLES is finally out. Amie poured her heart and soul into this one, and it shows. Looking at this picture of my friend and her creation fills me up with joy.
Amie is my mentor - the person I turn to with all my questions and worries, always the port in my storm. But of course, she has her own storms to weather, as we all do. As she wrote ISLES, we were all weathering one together in lockdown, isolated from each other. It was a time when writing and creativity felt, at times, so far away. But Amie found a way to craft this beautiful story, and I am just so proud of her. Now: do yourself a favor and go read it. I can’t wait for you all to fall in love, as I did.
If you’re in Australia, we’d love to see you at the Melbourne launch party for Isles this Thursday — Kate will be hosting! You can click here to book a ticket.
If you’re anywhere else in the world, then guess what? You can still come along to the launch!
In a this-will-be-a-triumph-or-a-disaster-and-nothing-in-between move, we’re going to try for a live recording of our Melbourne launch event. Will it work? We don’t know! What will the sound quality be like? Who can say! Stay tuned to your podcast feed, and we’ll have it out to you as soon as we can.

Congratulations on the release!! I can't believe both your books are already out!! I'm most of the way through Nightbirds at this point--really slow reader, reporting 🙋♀️--It's really a different feel reading a book where you actually know all the steps that went into creating it! Thank you so much for this podcast and your books!! ❤
