Welcome to the Pub Dates newsletter! We’re so glad you’re here.
This newsletter is released as a companion to each podcast episode, and we use it to share the visual elements of our discussion — from mood boards to design sketches, from photos to secret giveaways just for subscribers.
In episode forty-eight we talked all about writing retreats — why we love them, how to organise them, and what they’re like.
In this newsletter:

Launch day in Melbourne!
This bit’s just for the Aussies — we would love to see you at our joint book launch in Melbourne! You can grab tickets right here.
Behind the scenes: Pics from retreat
First, let’s travel back in time to the retreat that launched Pub Dates. The two of us ran away to a gorgeous house near an olive grove, and feasted on grain salad with pomegranate, and brainstormed dozens of episodes we’d like to make.
We also dreamed about you, dear listener — we thought about what kind of person you’d be, and what you’d want to know from behind the scenes, and what you’d want to know about how we navigate it.
Looking back to all those years ago, now on the verge of launching the second books in our duologies, it’s quite something to think about how far we’ve come.

Far more recently, here’s the retreat that Amie was on while this episode was broadcast, and a bunch of the retreat crew. Tragically no Kate — we weren’t willing to take her that far from hospital at this late stage — but we’re already counting down to the day we can get back out on retreat again!
