That view is GORGEOUS!!! I so wish I could go to one of your tour stops!! Nevertheless, I've pre-ordered both your books and I CANNOT wait!

Thanks, Jamie! And it was an excellent view. I've never eaten a fancy dinner ON a beach before, and highly recommend it.

I’d be curious to hear how an author sets up a preorder campaign like Kate’s, where you partner with a local bookstore for signed copies! How do you organize this, etc?

I got in touch with them via my publicist and asked if they'd like to partner with me, and they kindly agreed! Indie bookstores love boosting authors, especially local ones.

The illustration about the dog being brushed the wrong was really powerful. The impression I get is that with so much out of authors control, there is a genuine temptation to do all the things in relation to social media and marketing-- in the hope that something will make a difference. I love that you've both found things that really work for who you are and that you enjoyed and stuck with them. And especially glad that they involved the newsletters and Pubdates because I love them 🥰

Remembering that a lot of it is out of my control actually calms me. And it reminds me to do what feels right and good and trust the rest to my publisher. I'm glad you love the things we've chosen to do!

The information about why preorders are important was so valuable. I've never thought too much about it, and the only other book I've ever preordered was The Other Side of the Sky!

Preorders done for both of your books, and I'll be more diligent about preordering in the future. All the best for everything leading up to launch, Kate. ♥
